Outfox Semiconductor

Whenever an ordinary semiconductor chip is manufactured, any one defect in the chip can cause massive amounts of transistors or possibly the entire chip to be scrapped. Outfox Semiconductor will take initiatives to reduce, reuse and recycle its electronics, by creating a Field Programmable Gate Array.

A FPGA allows itself to be reprogrammed to behave like any other chip, whether it be a microprocessor, a machine learning accelerator, a graphics card, et-cetera.

This Field Programmable Gate Array is different, because it comes with two advantages:

* The first advantage, is that after manufacturing, a small quantity of Look-Up-Tables affected by silicon defects are permanently disabled, meaning cheaper FPGAs per square silicon.
* The second advantage, is that it only takes two Logic Blocks and seven wires to begin reprogramming the rest of the FPGA, which means that the FPGA can be reprogrammed in parallel, allowing them to switch from program to program faster. Reprogramming the FPGA using external pins and / or surrounding Logic Blocks internal to the FPGA is possible.
